1- Verbs ending in -e add -d

2- Verbs ending in consonant + vowel + consonant, double the final consonant an add-ed
Ex: grab-grabed
plan-planned
stop-stopped

3- Verbs ending in vowel+ y add-ed
Ex: play-played

4- Verbs with two or more syllables dooble the final consonant + if the stress(acentuação)falls on the final last syllable and the add -ed
Ex: permit-permitted
regret-reggreted
listen-listened
remember-remembered
